Indirect Fired Hot Air Generator

The AIRTHERM Series is a high-efficiency, horizontal three-pass hot air generator designed for maximum thermal performance. Engineered with fuel flexibility in mind, the AIRTHERM can fire a wide range of liquid and gaseous fuels, including heavy oils, light oils, and natural gas.

As an Indirect Fired system, the AIRTHERM uses a sophisticated shell-and-tube heat exchanger to ensure that the process air never comes into contact with combustion gases. This results in 100% clean, uncontaminated hot air, making it the ideal choice for sensitive industrial drying and heating applications.

Operating Range

  • Capacity – 0.1 million kcal/hr to 0.4 million kcal/hr
  • Fuel- Heavy oils, light oils and gases
  • Temperature- up to 200 °C

Engineering Excellence & Efficiency

The AIRTHERM is designed to operate as a standalone unit, eliminating the need for expensive steam boilers or thermic fluid heaters.

  • Three-Pass Heat Transfer: The combustion gases travel through three distinct passes within the shell-and-tube exchanger, ensuring maximum heat absorption and significantly reducing fuel consumption.
  • Atmospheric Operation: Unlike steam systems, the AIRTHERM provides consistent heat up to 200°C at zero operating pressure, enhancing plant safety and reducing regulatory requirements.
  • Multi-Fuel Versatility: Easily adaptable to fire Diesel (HSD), LDO, FO, LPG, or Natural Gas, allowing you to optimize operational costs based on current fuel prices.
  • Contaminant-Free Air: The indirect heating method guarantees that no soot, ash, or combustion by products enter your production line.

Targeted Industry Applications

The AIRTHERM is a preferred choice for sectors that require clean, dry air for their processes:

  • Food Processing: For drying grains, spices, tea, and dehydrated vegetables where air purity is critical.
  • Pharmaceuticals: For tray dryers and fluid bed dryers requiring contaminant-free thermal energy.
  • Chemicals: For drying powders, granules, and pigments.
  • Textiles: For stenter heating and fabric drying processes.
  • Printing & Packaging: For high-speed ink drying and laminating processes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Indirect Fired Hot Air Generator

In a Direct Fired system, combustion gases mix with the process air. In the AIRTHERM (Indirect), the air is heated through a stainless steel heat exchanger. This ensures the air delivered to your product is 100% clean and free of smoke or odors.

No. One of the primary benefits of the AIRTHERM is that it is a standalone unit. It heats the air directly using its own burner, saving you the high capital and maintenance costs of a steam boiler or thermic fluid heater.

Yes. Since the system operates at zero pressure (atmospheric pressure), it is significantly safer than high-pressure steam systems. It also features a compact horizontal design that fits easily into standard industrial layouts.

The three-pass design forces the hot combustion gases to travel through the internal tubes three times before exiting through the chimney. This gives the air more time to absorb heat, resulting in lower exhaust temperatures and higher overall efficiency.

Maintenance is minimal. The horizontal design allows for easy access to the tube sheets for periodic cleaning of the flue tubes, ensuring the heat transfer efficiency remains high over the lifespan of the equipment.
