Wood Log & Biomass Briquette Steam Boiler
The STEAMAX is a high-performance, horizontal smoke-tube steam boiler engineered for maximum thermal efficiency and rugged industrial use. Designed as a Fully Wet Back system, the STEAMAX is optimized to fire solid fuels such as wood logs and biomass briquettes, providing a sustainable and cost-effective steam solution for high-capacity requirements.
Operating Range
- Capacity – 0.5 TPH to 6.0 TPH
- Fuel- Wood Log, Biomass Briquette
- Pressure- 10.54 Kg/cm² to 17.50 Kg/cm²
Advanced Fully Wet Back Engineering
Unlike "Dry Back" boilers that use a refractory-lined rear wall, the STEAMAX features a Fully Wet Back design. The rear combustion chamber is completely surrounded by water, which offers two critical benefits:
- Maximum Heat Absorption: Every square inch of the rear chamber contributes to steam generation, significantly increasing overall thermal efficiency.
- Lower Maintenance: By eliminating the heavy refractory rear wall, the system avoids the common issues of refractory cracking and heat bypass, reducing downtime and repair costs.
Robust Construction & Accessibility
The STEAMAX is built for long-term reliability and ease of service:
- Three-Pass Smoke Tube Design: Flue gases travel through the furnace and two subsequent sets of tubes, ensuring the highest possible heat extraction before exiting.
- Horizontal Plain Furnace: The large-volume furnace runs the entire length of the boiler, ensuring complete combustion of solid fuels and reducing thermal stress.
- Total Access: The large rear door provides 100% access to the furnace and smoke tubes, making cleaning and IBR inspections fast and straightforward.
Key Industry Applications
The STEAMAX is ideal for high-demand industries where solid fuel is an economical alternative to oil or gas:
- Textile & Garments: For large-scale dyeing, finishing, and fabric processing.
- Chemical & Pharma: For reactors, sterilization, and distillation processes.
- Food & Beverage: For canning, milk pasteurization, and large-scale industrial cooking.
- Plywood & Laminates: For high-pressure presses and resin curing.
- Paper & Packaging: For drying and corrugation processes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Wood Log & Biomass Briquette Steam Boiler
In a Wet Back boiler like the STEAMAX, the rear combustion chamber is surrounded by water. In a Dry Back boiler, it is lined with firebricks (refractory). Wet Back designs are more efficient because they use the rear chamber to heat water instead of just reflecting heat, and they require much less maintenance.
Yes. The horizontal plain furnace is designed to handle various types of solid biomass fuels. This gives you the flexibility to switch between wood logs and briquettes based on market price and availability.
The "Three-Pass" design forces the hot gases to travel through the boiler three times. This longer path allows the water to absorb much more heat from the gases, resulting in a lower chimney temperature and significantly lower fuel consumption.
Yes. All STEAMAX units are designed and manufactured strictly in accordance with the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), ensuring they meet the highest safety and quality standards required for high-pressure industrial use.
The STEAMAX is designed with maintenance in mind. By simply opening the rear door, operators have full access to the tubes. This allows for easy mechanical cleaning to remove soot, ensuring the boiler consistently operates at peak efficiency.
