Horizontal Direct Fired Hot Air Generator

The AIRPOWER Series is a high-performance, horizontal single-pass hot air generator engineered for maximum thermal efficiency. Utilizing a "direct-fired" approach, the AIRPOWER series mixes combustion gases directly with process air, ensuring nearly 100% heat transfer efficiency for applications where clean, dry, and high-temperature air is required.

Designed with a robust Shell-on-Shell construction, this series offers an economical yet powerful heating solution that operates at atmospheric pressure, eliminating the need for complex high-pressure certifications.

Operating Range

  • Capacity – 0.1 million kcal/hr to 0.4 million kcal/hr
  • Fuel- Heavy oils, light oils and gases
  • Temperature- up to 200 °C

Superior Thermal Efficiency & Fuel Flexibility

The AIRPOWER is built to adapt to your facility's energy resources. Its versatile burner system can be configured to fire a wide range of liquid and gaseous fuels, allowing you to switch based on market costs and availability.

  • Direct-Fired Performance: By eliminating the need for a heat exchanger, the AIRPOWER provides a rapid response time and converts fuel energy into process heat with minimal loss.
  • Shell-on-Shell Design: This specialized horizontal configuration ensures uniform air distribution and structural durability even during continuous high-temperature operation.
  • Atmospheric Operation: Provides high and medium process temperatures (up to 200°C) without the risks or regulatory burdens of high-pressure systems.
  • Fuel Versatility: Optimized for Heavy Oils (LDO/FO), Light Oils (Diesel), and Gaseous Fuels (LPG/CNG/Natural Gas).

Common Industry Applications

The AIRPOWER series is widely used in processes where direct contact with combustion products is acceptable:

  • Chemical Processing: For industrial drying of powders, pigments, and granules.
  • Agriculture & Food: Large-scale drying of grains, seeds, and animal feed.
  • Construction Materials: Curing and drying of bricks, tiles, and ceramic products.
  • Textiles: Hot air for stenter machines and fabric drying processes.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Drying of raw materials and bulk intermediate products.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Horizontal Direct Hot Air Generator

In a direct-fired generator, the fuel is burned directly in the process air stream. This means the hot combustion gases mix with the air being heated. This method is the most efficient possible because there is no heat exchanger to slow down the transfer of energy.

Yes, provided the fuel used is clean-burning (like Natural Gas or LPG) and the specific food process allows for direct contact with combustion air. It is commonly used for grain and seed drying.

No. One of the primary advantages of the AIRPOWER series is that it generates high-temperature air without any operating pressure. This simplifies the installation and reduces the legal and maintenance requirements compared to steam-based systems.

Yes. The AIRPOWER is designed with fuel flexibility in mind. While the burner itself may need to be modified or replaced to handle a different fuel type, the main shell and generator body are compatible with both liquid and gaseous fuels.

Because there are no complex heat exchanger tubes to scale up or leak, maintenance is very low. It primarily involves routine burner cleaning, checking the refractory lining, and ensuring the air intake filters are clear.
